Darren Osborne is the Director of Economic Research for the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) and Economic Consultant for the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association and Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). Through the VHMA, the CVMA and OVMA, Darren conducts economic research and analyses data in order to provide hundreds of veterinarians and hospital managers with Economic Reports, Personal Benchmark Reports, Reports on Compensation and Benefits for Associate Veterinarians, and Non-DVM Wage Reports. More recently, Darren has launched a full service accounting firm from within the association.
Darren attended York University and completed his Master’s Degree in Economics in 1992. Darren has a tough time sitting still so he relaxes by playing guitar, and training for endurance sports. Last year, Darren ran the Boston Marathon, the Great Canadian Death Race, Anita Rock Swim in San Francisco (2.7 miles), and capped off the year by qualifying for the New York Marathon. Darren knows that a lecture on economics can be the best prescription for insomnia but he promises to keep you awake with a healthy dose of humour and lots of fodder for debate.
