Kim Farina, DVM
Dr. Farina is a clinical practice veterinarian whose expertise is in marketing, communications and storytelling. For the past five years, she has been employed as a consultant by the American Veterinary Medical Foundation's Partners for Healthy Pets overseeing multiple long-term projects, including the VHMA ìPreventive Pet Healthcare Workbook: A Champion's Guide.î Her consulting experience also includes collaboration with the Pet Nutrition Alliance in conjunction with the American Animal Hospital Association. Prior to her consulting pathway, Dr. Farina worked for Hill's Pet Nutrition in marketing and sales and was awarded the ìNorth America Personal Leadership Award for Courageous Leadership,î the ìJohn L. Mara Award for Sales Excellenceî and a four-time recipient of the ìMara Moment awardî for innovations in efficiency and positive volume sales growth. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Farina enjoyed a successful career in the entertainment industry as writer, journalist and broadcaster.
Karen E. Felsted, CPA, MS, DVM, CVPM, CVA
Dr. Felsted is a CPA as well as a veterinarian and has spent the last 15 years working as a financial and operational consultant to veterinary practices and the animal health industry. She also spent three years with the National Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues as CEO. She has written an extensive number of articles for a wide range of veterinary publications and speaks regularly at national and international veterinary meetings. She is the past treasurer of VetPartners, a member of the Veterinary Economics' Editorial Advisory Board, a past member of the CVPM board of directors and the past treasurer of the CATalyst Council. In 2011, she was awarded the Western Veterinary Conference Practice Management Continuing Educator of the Year and in 2014, the VetPartners Distinguished Life Member Award.
